On April 3, 2025, Addis Ababa – The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gedion Timothewos, convened with representatives from the Amhara National Regional State to discuss arrangements for hosting the 11th edition of the Tana High-Level Forum in Africa scheduled for later this year in 2025.

During his trip to Bahir Dar, the Minister highlighted the significance of the Tana High-Level Forum for discussing matters of great importance across the continent. He also reiterated the federal government's ongoing commitment to supporting the successful execution of the forum.

The Minister also commended the Regional Administration for successfully updating forum amenities along with the progress made in infrastructure within the city of Bahir Dar.

The president of the Amhara National Regional State, Arega Kebede, emphasized the great significance the regional government places on successfully hosting this yearly event.

Given that the Regional Government has effectively organized multiple conferences in recent years, the President noted that Bahir Dar’s extensive amenities and welcoming ambiance persistently draw the hosting of both national and international gatherings.

The 11th edition of the Tana High-Level Forum will take place with the theme "Africa in a Changing Global Landscape." It will gather prominent figures such as policymakers, thinkers, and key participants from across Africa and around the world.

Over more than ten years, Tana Forum has been instrumental in fostering lasting peace and aiding in the execution of the African Union Tripoli Declaration from August 2009, which advocates for "African-driven Solutions."
