Ghana's High School Transformation Tour Reshapes Lives at Cape Coast School for the Deaf and Blind
The Ghana Grows High School Next Level Tour keeps making a substantial difference, as evidenced by its recent visit to the Cape Coast School for the Deaf and Blind. This tour not only imparted valuable information and motivation but also offered an extraordinary financial chance to transform one student’s life.
The current year's iteration of the tour centers around specialized schools and facilities designed for individuals with disabilities. It seeks to provide avenues for engagement in agriculture and agribusiness, thereby bringing about significant and unforeseen life transformations.
One memorable highlight from the event was the "Wow Moment" section, designed to honor students for their active involvement, zeal, and exceptional contribution. An emotionally charged example occurred when a student called Callistus received a monetary award precisely during a challenging period when he was finding it difficult to cover his tuition costs.
"I had no idea how I would manage to cover my expenses, and then this occurred today. I am deeply thankful to the organizers for being here—not only to instruct us but also to transform our lives. This gesture means the world to me," stated an emotionally moved Callistus.
His narrative underscores the profound impact of the High School Next Level Disability Inclusion program, which not just exposes students to potential career paths in agriculture but also addresses critical requirements with immediate and significant effect.
Comfort Ocran, who serves as the Executive Director of the Springboard Road Show Foundation, highlighted the profound influence of their program: "Each time we go to a school, we encounter students with aspirations ready to be sparked. Today, our efforts extended further than simply teaching and motivating; we managed to have an immediate positive effect on a student's life."
Up until now, the Ghana Grows High School Next Level Tour has made visits to several institutions including the Koforidua School for the Deaf, Kibi School for the Deaf, and Bechem School for the Deaf. Additional locations have been the Takoradi Special Vocational School, Twin City Special School, as well as educational facilities such as the Cape Coast School for the Deaf and Blind, Volta School for the Deaf and Blind, and Gbi Special School.
