To guarantee a steady electricity supply in Ondo State, Lincs Power Energy Solutions, an energy company, has teamed up with the state government to build a 5-megawatt power facility in the region.
It was learned that the power initiative was supported by a previous Senior Special Assistant to ex-Governor Rotimi Akeredolu for ICT matters, Mr Olumbe Akinkugbe.
At the ceremonial ground-breaking for the initiative on Thursday, Mr. Otinniyi Michael, who leads the firm as its project manager, stated that this power supply, set to eventually "increase to 20 megawatts," will have the capability to offer consistent electrical service throughout all of Ondo State and nearby areas.
He praised Governor Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa for promoting the collaboration on the initiative, stating his belief that the project will be finished at the earliest opportunity.
During his comments, Mr. Akinkugbe, who served as the facilitator, stated that the initiative aimed to deliver consistent power supply to Ondo West Local Government and surrounding areas. This would stimulate economic development and enhance the living standards of the community members.
He stated, "The ceremony signaled the start of the project's construction stage, with Lincs Power Energy Solutions committing to fulfill their promise for this initiative. Additionally, preparations are being made to enhance the power output up to 20 MW eventually. The ceremonial ground-breaking marks the commencement of the project's development period."
“The 5 MW power project is expected to provide reliable electricity to Ondo State and its environs, boosting economic growth and improving the quality of life for residents.”
Governor Aiyedatiwa, represented by his Special Advisor on Energy, Mr Alabi Johnson, showed gratitude to Akinkugbe for his relentless work in advancing the project and urged the community to support this endeavor.
