Trump Ousts Multiple National Security Advisors, Reports Show

American media outlets have stated that these dismissals occurred following a meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and far-right conspiracy theorist and influencer Laura Loomer.

US President Donald Trump has fired several US national security officials, broadcaster CNN and other news outlets reported on Thursday.

The New York Times It was reported that around six NSC staff members were let go, with others being moved to different roles, after a meeting between Trump and right-wing figure Laura Loomer took place.

Several high-ranking NSC officials, including David Feith, who was responsible for supervising technology and national security, and Brian Walsh, who oversaw intelligence issues, were dismissed according to reports from Reuters.

The causes of the dismissals remained unclear; however, anonymous sources informed Reuters about some concerns related to the employees' screening and backgrounds.

It comes in the wake of a scandal that gripped Trump's National Security Council (NSC) last week, when a journalist from US magazine The Atlantic was mistakenly included in a conversation on the Signal app where officials were discussing potential air strikes. Houthi rebels in Yemen .

Trump's meeting with Loomer is said to have lasted 30 minutes and it reportedly included National Security Adviser Mike Waltz, according to media reports.

The Vice President, JD Vance, Chief of Staff, Susie Wiles, along with Sergio Gor, who leads the Presidential Personnel Office, reportedly took part in the event.

Trump confirmed the meeting to reporters aboard Air Force One, calling Loomer "a great patriot" And she stated that she recommended individuals for hiring. Trump did not mention whether she proposed that he dismiss the NSC staff.

Who is Laura Loomer?

"I will continue working hard to support his agenda, and I will continue reiterating the importance of, and the necessity of STRONG VETTING, for the sake of protecting the President of the United States of America, and our national security."

She stated that "in consideration of President Trump and the privacy of the Oval Office, I will refrain from sharing any specifics" about the meeting.
