Atiku Responds to Allegations of Receiving Funds From Sanwo-Olu for 2023 Election Run

The information is included in a statement released by the Atiku Media Office in Abuja on Thursday.

The announcement was made by Atiku's spokesperson. Paul Ibe He refuted the claims that Sanwo-Olu provided funds to the ex-vice president for their 2023 presidential run.

According to The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Atiku was the presidential nominee for the People's Democratic Party (PDP) during the 2023 general elections.

In the statement, Ibe referred to the insinuations as false information and simplistic rhetoric akin to what one might find in a kindergarten setting.

He stated that the document asserted that Sanwo-Olu had provided Abubakar with funds allegedly belonging to Lagos.

The media assistant mentioned that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) was likewise recognized for looking into the issue.

The report was characterized as "an outright falsehood born from the depths of hell; a fabricated political nonsense and a pointless smear campaign designed to promote political interests detrimental to Abubakar."

He said that Abubakar did not know Sanwo-Olu and had never met him before.

"How could Atiku, who had no prior knowledge or connections with Sanwo-Olu, engage in a financial transaction with him, particularly during the 2023 presidential elections when Atiku's boss was a candidate? What would be the purpose of such an interaction?" he asked.

I advised EFCC to make public the outcome of its alleged investigation, since it had been dragged into it.

He demanded an urgent end to what he characterized as a misguided journey and a smear campaign against Abubakar’s character and good name.
