Do not be fooled! Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote is not offering money through this suspicious link.

IN SHORT: Although Nigerian businessman Aliko Dangote ranks among the wealthiest individuals in Africa, he has no connection to the "N100,000 Dangote Grant FOR All Citizens." Be cautious of social media claims to this effect and avoid clicking on dubious links.

A post Circulating on Facebook in Nigeria promotes an opportunity for users to apply for a "N100,000 Dangote Grant." attached link .

The 4 March 2025 post promises "instant payouts" and claims the "application closes soon".

It features a graphic with an image of Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote And a brief version requesting the user's complete name, banking details, and contact number.

Dangote heads the Dangote Group, a dominant cement producer and West Africa's largest conglomerate, operating in 17 countries. In 2024, Forbes listed him as Africa's richest man for the 13th year in a row.

Other discussions supporting this "grant" can be seen here , here and here . (Refer to additional examples at the conclusion of this document.)

However, is this statement accurate? We verified it.

It's a scam

We observed that the postings did not include essential specifics like the precise deadline for application submissions. Additionally, they mentioned the grant was available to "all citizens" without clarifying eligibility criteria. A genuine program initiated by Dangote should provide these details to prevent misunderstandings.

We observed that certain users shared personal and banking details in the comments section of the posts. This practice exposes them to potential theft by scammers who might exploit such data for fraudulent activities.

It's highly unlikely that Dangote would launch such a programme without making an official announcement. We searched the Dangote Group's official website and verified social media pages for such an initiative and came up empty.

The link attached to the post led us to a website With the heading: "Congratulations, claim this. Serious Nigerian applicants only," we had to select the sum we wished to request from either ₦50,000, ₡100,000, or ₦500,000.

We selected the ₦100,000 option and pressed the "submit application" button. This directed us to an additional page. webpage Regarding "Australia Visa Sponsorship: Qualification, Submission Process & Professional Route Choices (2025/2026)." These Facebook postings intend to redirect viewers to unconnected sites that might generate income through page views.

Avoid being deceived. The assertion about a "Dangote grant for all citizens" in Nigeria is untrue.
