Incredible prize money revealed for revamped Club World Cup, with Chelsea and Man City in line for massive payday

Manchester City and Chelsea have the potential to earn as much as £97 million if they secure victory in this summer’s updated version Club World Cup .
The total prize money, which will be distributed among all 32 squads depending on various criteria, has reached €1 billion as the competition kicks off in the United States in June.
The city earned approximately £110 million from their victory. Champions League Two years ago, but it could approach that figure over a span of seven games throughout a month towards the end of this season.
Both teams are scheduled to hold discussions with numerous football associations globally regarding the possible availability of their national team players.
But while there may be issues surrounding rest and travel for the opening group games – Chelsea play Leon on June 16, City facing Wydad AC two days later – those turning out for their countries will be in situ for the business end of the competition.
FIFA have worked alongside the European Club Association to build a framework for the prize money, with just over £400m pledged for ‘participation’, which takes in commercial power and is finalised on a sliding scale.
An additional £368 million has been allocated for a team's performance during the competition, covering victory incentives and advancement through the elimination stages.
FIFA has stated that every other form of income produced will be reinvested back into soccer clubs globally.
